Ever been walking down the street and suddenly you stumble across a nostalgic smell that takes you right back to a specific moment in time, a happy time, a time when you were on holiday or perhaps a smell from childhood?
You smile and take a deep breath in to inhale the memory and picture that moment… Great isn’t it!
The association of fragrance and emotion is not just a fairytale notion invented by perfume makers, it’s actually a real thing. Our olfactory receptors are directly connected to the limbic system, the most ancient and primitive part of the brain which is thought to be the gate way to our emotion.
Triggering memories through smell is how T London was created.
Founder Jayne Kethro is a keen traveller who relives her adventures through her home fragrance, bath and body products. Each blend is born from a specific magical moment, which was almost always had, whilst sipping on a cup of tea and reflecting on the days events (hence the T, in T London).
T London’s formulations burst with aromatic spices, essential plant oils, natural botanicals and are all made in Britain . Our skin friendly bath & body products are up to 99% natural with no parabens, SLS/SLES or artificial colours. They are safe and reassuringly natural with soy wax and lead free wick candles.
Now, as you can imagine a lot of work has gone into making sure T London’s products are just right! We want you to use our luxurious blends to their maximum potential, so we’re going to share a few tips and tricks on how to make the most of our products.
1. Choose something that suits your mood.
Whether you have all of T London’s blends or just one, choosing a blend to suit your mood at the time can be very beneficial, as each blend has been carefully formulated to enhance a specific mood. If you’re feeling stressed, for example and it’s been a tough week at work, then light up a Dimbula candle, it’s blended for equilibrium and will help you find that much needed calm and inner balance. And as those wintery nights draw in, you may start to feel a little down in the dumps – put a Darjeeling diffuser in your living space, it’s blended for positivity and it’s aroma will lift your mood.

2. Trim the wick!
Yes – you’ll get a longer life out of your candle if you do this, you don’t need a big flickering flame! A smaller one does the job just as well and the longevity of the candle will increase. Our candles are made with the highest quality fragrances and 100% blended vegetable wax (a combo of soya and rapeseed oil so that it burns at a higher temperature and throws the fragrance better).
3. Get the most out of your diffuser.
Place your diffuser in a high movement area where the fragrance will disperse throughout the room with air circulation. Or another great spot is just inside a room near the door so you pick up the scent as you enter. Try to think of a diffuser as a bouquet of flowers in your hallway creating your own wonderful house aroma!
4. Turn the reeds.
We recommend turning the reeds after they’ve been immersed in the essential oil for a few hours, then leave them for a good few days before turning again.
TOP TIP: To prolong the life of your diffuser, turn 3-5 reeds once in a while, it will boost the aroma, but the oil wont evaporate as quickly. If it’s a small room then try using only ½ the Reeds, this will prolong the diffusers life. You can keep adding reeds until you find the right balance and strength for the size of the room.
