If you were a modern day Flintstone, you’d live here. Nestled amongst the rocks of Namibia’s Damaraland, is Camp Kipwe, an intimate enclave of eight private stone and earth huts, with luxurious interiors and thatched roofs. We visited recently and fell in love with the sense of space, the privacy, the eco-policy and atmosphere – it’s a truly magical place. Swim in a pool amongst the tumbled boulders, take an open air shower in your en-suite bathroom, or simply lay back and drink in the huge skies and jaw-dropping scenery. It’s the ideal spot to discover this amazing country: during our stay we went to find desert elephants, visited Namibia’s first World Heritage Site and hiked the valleys. This is rustic luxury at its most memorable.
